This is very right wing... with Joe Lycett.
Our first project was to design a set for a light entertainment programme for BBC Three. BBC Three’s target demographic is 16-34 years of age and they create youth orientated innovative programming.
To begin I started by making a mood board to research styles and themes of BBC Three programmes and light entertainment programmes. This was to help me gain some knowledge surrounding what works well for this type of entertainment and to find some common themes within it.
I then began to sketch out some visuals and ideas of what I wanted my set to look like. I knew that I wanted a bright colour scheme and specific areas for certain elements of the show and that these all needed to look both visually striking and be physically practical.
I then made some visuals to show the camera shot potential of my design.
While there are different clear sections of my set that have different functions, I still wanted to ensure that the whole set was coherent and that the colour scheme had the ability to tie all elements together.
These images show my above set model in 1:50 scale. I feel that my finished set model successfully communicates my design and brings across the fun and playful nature of my show whilst still looking professional and sleek.
