Everything Everywhere All at Once

Everything Everywhere All at Once: 2022, Dir. Daniel Kwan, Daniel Scheinert.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is a masterpiece. At face value it is a ground-breaking take on the sci-fi genre. However at its core it is a beautiful exploration into class struggle, family relationships, motherly love, Asian culture and LGBTQ+ issues.

The story follows Evelyn Wang and her family after she finds out that she is the only hope of saving the multiverse from the omnipotent being Jobu Tupaki; who she later finds is her daughter Joy, with whom she has a very complicated relationship.

This film is one of the most emotionally raw I have ever seen; it's accuracy depicting mother daughter relationships, the human experience and family bonds is immense.

The visuals and ideas in this film do not take themselves too seriously but perfectly juxtapose the emotions and subject area discussed. It is innovative, full of talent and truly never seen before. From the costume design to set design to the graphics it is all immensely detailed, perfectly planned and executed. It is a triumph of everything it means to be human.

The creative minds behind this piece of art are some of the best of our time and I (along with everyone who watches) will never forget this masterpiece.
