Holding the Man is a heartbreakingly beautiful adaption of the true story of John Caleo and Timothy Conigrave's relationship at the height of the AIDs epidemic. It is a visually stunning film with so much soul and emotion. It pulls you into the hearts of these characters before ripping them away from you. It allows an insight into the shockwave that the AIDs epidemic brought into the community in such a personal way that allows the watcher to truly empathise and understand the impact that the disease had on the LGBTQ+ community.
